> What is your new years wish for MAME in 2023?
Separating the post into segments.
The thanks for contributions in 2022 :
The contributors for the rare games and prototypes:
Deco cassette titles The Tower and Nebula, also additions of MM2, Segumi Rescue, and other various rare coinop titles provided by many others over 2022 year. My thanks.
Moogly for the laser disc game, Fairlight system, and recent Quizard work and other updates over the year. Phil B for his work, and Haze for additions of some of the rare coinop titles.
Windy fairy, Dragonminded and others for the Konami related updates.
Some of the brief net list contributions by Golden Child and Couriersud. Duke for the Casio RZ1 drum machine updates.
And huge thanks to Sean Riddle, hap, and the designer of the Mattel Auto Race game in which it became possible for Sean and hap to emulate the first generation of Rockwell chip hardware in order to emulate some of the remaining well known Mattel Electronics led games. One very grateful old timer here being able to eventually enjoy playing those games once again with actual game data instead of simulation or a generic recreation of the actual Mattel led games.
As for safe guessing predictions in 2023:
bug fixes, software list updates, NEC computer updates, 4am continuing Apple related disk updates for preservation, kmg for NES related updates, and Haze doing additions along the way and Vas doing UI updates over the next year, and Sean doing further handheld chip dumping emulation while hap is continuing further chessboard game additions.
As for 2023 personal wishlist :
any more Deco cassette titles being preserved and supported.
Casio RZ 1 drum unit being tidied up some more although Duke did a great update in 2022.
Konami Drum Mania series fully emulated if possible.
Maybe another laser disc title addition and BrianT doing more additions of IGT PEPlus hardware titles.
And maybe more IBM 5150 hardware DOS boot up diskette games being added…preferably in original form instead of cracked versions.
And any more net list related work whether it be audio, hardware component emulation, any more roms of non-cpu games being dumped and added / documented in MAME. I’ll settle for any specific minor update.
And being in better health in 2023 with hopefully sans carcinoma skin cancer with remaining ones removed so I can try to complete what was on my todo list for 2022.
