Has there ever been a fix for getting AimTrak light guns to work properly with 16:9 screens?
When I use an AimTrak with MAME on a 16:9 screen, the aim is only accurate in the middle of the screen. If you stretch the original MAME 4:3 aspect ratio to 16:9 everything works fine. I assume it is because even with the mouse you cannot move the crosshairs into the black bar/bazel area. I got around this by changing my desktop to a 4:3 resolution, then calibrating the guns. After switching back to a 16:9 resolution, MAME is fine but now everything else is off.
Something is wonky in MAME when it comes to the light guns. I turned on the mouse cursor for the MAME UI and the gun tracks with the cursor fairly well. However, the gun reticle and the cursor are not together. Here is a a video of what I’m talking about. https://drive.google.com/file/d/1_P7TOET9_cHkrxyNxtrmZEhUusRiK3zB/view
On the MAME testers site, someone mentions that the fix would be for the cursor and reticle to always remain together however,

I don’t see how this would explain why MAME works fine when I run it in a 4x3 resolution and calibrate the gun for a 4x3 resolution. The cursor and reticle are also not together if I use a mouse to aim instead of the AimTrak. Gun4IR has a option for 4:3 content. I 've never used a Gun4IR before. Is this some kind of software work around?
