SEGA Crack Down, board game?

I just had an idea... Yeah. I don't care that I'm sharing it here.
I got to thinking of the ol' arcade game 'CRACK DOWN', and how it has a stage timer for when the bomb detonates. When I used to play it in MAME I hardly ever ran out of time.
So with this (as a board game), you'd have to run over the X squares to place a bomb. But you'd also have enemies that you would have to deal with. So you'd have a limited number of moves or actions you'd need to complete and ultimately reach the other end of the gameboard. Run out of moves and the "Bomb" goes off (or, GAME OVER).
Perhaps there could be alternate 'Stealth' paths that might cost more moves. But the most direct would take you by enemies. Maybe a health system should be implemented... You took one hit in the arcade, but that usually sent you back to a checkpoint (spot) on the map.
Enemy encounters might deal with maybe rolling dice, or maybe drawing cards. There were bombs you could use in the game... Maybe certain weapons you can pick up on the board would give you another die to roll (like the missile launcher).
The Arcade had up to 2 players. So for a board game... I suppose it could be 1 player as long as they can take the enemy turns. So 1, 2, or 3 players I'm thinking.
