I don't know about RB, but I've got a 3950X, which is two generations behind current (this is a Zen 2, and AMD are currently gearing up to ship the Zen 4 with socket AM5).
All I can say is that this little motherfucker absolutely screams through MAME compiles, and it's treated me very kindly when it comes to MAME-related performance, although I don't have any specific benchmarks.
Suffice it to say that at this point, AMD have been kicking Intel's ass into finally being competetive when it comes to single-threaded performance, so you have absolutely nothing to worry about when it comes to something like a Zen 4. It'll treat you well, and unless Intel pull something completely out of their collective ass, it'll be future-proof for a few years at the very least.
