The border is a humanitarian crisis. Tens to 100s of thousands a day cross, unvaccinated, with no job prospects. They will be living off of our welfare dollars and getting medical care that our own citizens can't afford. No republican has ever been against immigration. EVER. We stand for the rule of law, that requires background checks and an approved VISA. It's safer for us, and safer for them. That is not xenophobic or racist.
