Look, I'm just going to be real with you here:
Nobody "picked on you", you made an absolutely ludicrous demand - sorry, "request" - that you, someone who nobody on the team knows from Adam, someone who has no proven track record of any sort of reverse-engineering work, a one-of-a-kind, delicate, heavy-as-hell Atari prototype arcade board which is the most straight-up complex end-point derivative of the Hard Drivin' hardware. And you were taken to task for it.
I'm sorry that you've somehow lived your whole life until now without realizing it, but requesting something ridiculous isn't any less asinine than demanding it. It's not how it's phrased, it's what's being asked for.
You, of all people, who couldn't even manage something as simple as submitting a pull request on Github. You, of all people, who attached a Visual Studio solution file thinking that you were submitting a code change to the MAME team's code-submit e-mail address.
Get real.
