If you run mame64.exe directly without parameters you'll be able to select Atari 2600 software list and then its games directly in MAME's internal UI. If you want to run a game directly, just create a .bat file in Windows Explorer and enter that command line with the specific game name you want to run
mame_emu_full_path\mame64.exe machine_name gamename
replace machine_name with MAME's internal machine name for the Atari 2600 Software List... a2600
replace gamename with MAME's internal game name for the game you want to run... just open "mamedir\hash\a2600.xml" in Notepad or similar text viewer so you can see the proper game names.
Or you can use a MAME frontend... like MAMEUI if you don't like dealing with MAME's built-in frontend. http://www.mameui.info
I know it can be a little bit overwhelming at first, but once you get the basics, MAME it's really simple and straightforward to use.
Oh, and make sure you put your zipped Atari 2600 ROMs in mamedir\roms\a2600\ sub-folder or MAME will be unable to find games to run.
