It's getting to the point, for parity with the home stuff, and because at this point in time *all* of this is a niche it would probably make sense to start adding this kind of thing.

I'd suggest some kind of additional header, such as 'New Working / NOT Working Recent Freely Distributed Software additions' and for the credits simply point at the site of distribution, but I think MAME supporting these things, and maybe more importantly, documenting all versions of these things (as they tend to drop off the official sites very quickly once bugs are found and new revisions are issues) is important.

It's an area MAME could support the scene, even if sometimes the software does not work. Again I think building bridges is important.

The criteria used to be that it had to run on original systems, but with so many FGPA recreations of original systems, even that becomes muddy, and MAME might have to start to be a little more flexible in the nature of the cloned hardware it emulates.
