...not exactly....but some video clip examples for reference now that a Yamaha WX 7 might be occupying someone's time.
The presenter is a speedy talker and one has to keep up with what is being said, but his clip presentation is informative and worth watching especially for those that decide to go with the Akai brand route.
Here's Everything You Ever Wanted to Know About the EWI (Electronic Wind Instrument).
The EWI (Electronic Wind Instrument) isn't just a novelty electric saxophone - it's capable of so much more. The AKAI EWI 4000S, EWI 5000, and EWI USB are revolutionary tools for woodwind players (and non-woodwind players!), and I'm taking it upon myself to share what these crazy electronic plastic tubes are capable of.
One of the better examples of Yamaha WX-7 electronic wind instrument presentations
Out Of The Darkness performed with an iPad, a WX-7 electronic wind instrument, MidiBridge iPad app
Experimenting with an iPad, wind controller (old skool WX7) and MidiBridge app to create chords triggered with a foot pedal. Using Thor, Magellan, Sunrizer, ThumbJam and Yamaha VL-70 synth module.
The youtube comment contributors 'clay konnor' knows his stuff and his comments are worth reading.
I posted this before and it is still worth watching seeing how the EVI is used.
Nyle Steiner is the inventor of the Electronic Valve Instrument (EVI) and the Electronic Wind Instrument (EWI). As well as being an amazing musician, he is one of the kindest most humble people I've ever met. This is a clip from the Park City TV "Mountain Morning Show" with host, Jen Hardman. This was done live at 7am, May 12th, 2010.
Another example of why Michael Brecker was one of the best woodwind performers of the 20th century and taken way to soon (passed in mid 50's age range) in 2006. Brecker still called the EWI a Steinerphone in tribute to Nyle even though Akai had bought the rights.

Two examples of Sumo is played. The first clip shows the piece before it was officially recorded in Steps Ahead 1986 album Magnetic. The other clip is from the album.
The Lyricon was somewhat of a competing product against Steiner's products. Lyricons had fragile components that would wear out versus Steiner's technology. That is why Steiner's inventions are still prevalent these days because they are durable compared to Lyricons. The best example of Lyricon playing that I had seen was with Steve Tavaglione when Steve was playing with live band Dog Cheese in 1980s decade at some of the music clubs such as North Hollywood's Baked Potato. He knew how to get a full range of features from the Lyricon when doing medley pieces from Dog Cheese.
A couple of decent clips showing the Lyricon in action even though it is somewhat of an archaic product these days.
The best performer in this video clip is actually keyboardist Gil Goldstein and how Gil attacks the electric Rhodes piano even though the clip is to showcase Michal Urbaniak talent with the Lyricon.
