The Arcade1up using raspberry pi clone boards. Which explain why Galaga had issues on their v1 baords. Should be fixed on v2 as I heard. I don't know what are they using because I don't think it MAME. The games is change. 
You so right about MAME shouldn't be on the raspberry pi boards. Reason is people be sending false reports to MAMETester website.
