As I said before, I’ve had this stuff half-done for years, but various things have prevented it getting to a presentable state. But right now I’m at a point where a bunch of it can come together. This stuff allows squeezing a lot more out of some changes that are relatively minor in terms of impact to developers.

Oh, and I’m still working on the automatic layout migration script, but it’s now turning into the thing that gets pushed behind other, more important, stuff. We’ve still got months before old layouts will become unsupported, though.
