gameboy artwork error

Hi!

I'm using the hydef mame artwork with mame 221 and as I try to boot the gameboy skin mame return this error:

mame64 gameboy tetris
Improperly formatted XML file 'default', ignoring
Improperly formatted XML file 'default', ignoring



The default.lay file looks pretty standard and ok to me but somehow mame doesn't like it and it doesn't show what is wrong with it either.

is there something I can do about it?
