>The situation here in Italy is really very serious ...
Fortunately already set up there to handle things even though maybe some initial missteps took place. It's unfortunate this virus wasn't really known of what damage it could do.
>I can't understand why the American and British leaders are underestimating this worldwide problem!
I haven't followed UK's "Bojo" to see what is going on there, but the orange face jackass fool, in the WH, was intentionally not taking a serious approach when this was starting in late December/early January.
US will eventually take the lead and have more casualties within next couple months. If looking at chart by each state California might have most because of its population size compared to other states, but Florida might easily take the early lead because the GOP governor chose to allow businesses and theme parks to still operate in Florida in drawing in large crowds as if nothing serious was going to happen. The professional sports leagues in basketball, hockey, baseball already knew several days earlier to shut down, but the Florida governor chose to let things still happen until he finally wised up two days ago.
I am thankful to be in CA where a state government is still functional compared to several of the red states and the federal level which has been almost destroyed by GOP crooks and assholes.
I am surprised Switzerland is having problems. I thought they would be prepared there.
- FT's tracking chart for today, March 19. Look at the US trend line.
