It's more than money. Most people from Canada with conditions will tell you that the LEVEL of healthcare is atrocious. What good is cheap health care if you can't get an appointment? What good does it do for the next generation of Doctors, when there is less incentive to become a doctor? I'm doing well because I have a job on top of my retirement benefits, but lets just concentrate on my job... I got something to the tune of 67k last year, and I work my ass off! I'm deployed 7+ months out of the year, where I work no less than 85 hours a week. Sanders thinks he should make 60k the minimum wage? Why would I do what I do, when I can just stay at home and flip burgers? And how much are those burgers going to cost YOU when my boss has to pay me so much? And Oh, by the way... do you have any clue how many government employees, including military, make LESS than 60k a year? That's gonna put a dent in the budget... and get covered in yet another tax raise.
Doesn't work. Won't work. Won't ever happen. What WOULD happen, is the strength of the dollar will TANK, because if "everybody makes 60k a year", then 60k a year will be worth approximately what 16k is right now. INSTANT Artificial inflation, that puts the economy in the tank. Sure, call me crazy. Call me stupid. Then call any fucking body in Venezuela and ask them how stupid I am.
Just broke my personal record for number of consecutive days without dying!
