I ended up working with Vas Crabb half the night on this one, and I think I've worked out what happened.
I've enclosed a link to a 0.216 binary I've compiled under different circumstances, see if this crashes the same way. If it doesn't, then I'm 99.9% sure of what the fix is although the full exact nature of the problem is still elusive.
