Hello all.
I figured this was as good a place to post this as any... I’m building a new system i7/2600 with Windows 7. I had an XP system that stayed disconnected from the internet for 15 years or so. It was great -no pop-ups, no upgrade messages, etc.
I’d like to do the same with this Windows 7 machine (given that Win 7 will no longer be supported). To keep it tied to the internet “feels” like I’m inviting problems. I’d like to get it set up, and then unplug/isolate it -nothing gets in; nothing gets out (I don’t know, it felt cool to say).
I realize this might depend on what’s in the system software wise: i.e., certain programs HAVE to maintain a connection?
What am I planning on having in the computer you ask? Well, for the moment:
Win 7 Mame 200 Launchbox
Am I being paranoid (it is the Loony Bin) or is someone else pulling this off with success -and their endorsement?
Thanks
