The issue here is you need to set the JPN version to Freeplay, HOLD the coin button, then enter the other buttons in a certain order, right?
So I went to check... hit F2 to go into service mode, and choose the first option to test inputs.
Every key that you push registers on that screen... EXCEPT the coin inputs. Hold 5 or 6, and nothing happens.
