Well, here are some initial tips, as I'm running into some technical woes:
- The SPARCstation doesn't like having the CD-ROM attached at SCSI ID 1, as it is for some reason in the driver. Specify "-scsibus:0 harddisk -scsibus:1 "" -scsibus:6 cdrom" at the command line.
- The SPARCstation 1 didn't have a video card integrated into the motherboard, so you'll need to attach one. Specify "-slot1 bwtwo" for a monochrome graphics adapter, as it's the one that currently works the best.
- When partitioning the hard disk, partition A is the boot partition, partition B is swap, and partitions G and H should contain the majority of the disk. You should also ensure that partition C spans the entirety of the disk. I do not know why that is, but it's how SunOS expects it.
- You don't need to format the disk, as that takes an eternity. You just need to label the disk once it's partitioned.
- Once you reboot into the newly-copied miniroot, invoke "suninstall" to begin the installation process.
- I tried doing a Quick Install and the emulated machine seems to have hung after making the devices. You might need to try a Custom Installation instead. YMMV.
