Haven't purchased an MK game in a long time. Last I played was MK4 in the Arcade, and I'm pretty sure it wasn't even 100% complete yet. What the hell happened? Tons of shit in this game that must be purchased. After I just paid $60 for the damn thing, for the Switch. Also, it seems that most things you get (rewards and such) are locked behind online servers. I got the damn Switch version because I still go out to sea... where I can't possibly connect to the internet! I understand it's all in the name of preventing cheating, and perhaps a bit of piracy deterrent, but damn!
Right out of the box, I had to download an update that took an hour and a half to download. Also, right out of the box, there's a DLC pack you can purchase to basically pre-pay for DLC that has no release date (and it doesn't even seem to be marketed as a "season pass", so I don't know if it includes all future DLC or not) for like $40. That's already $100. For a handheld game.
Very disappointed in the direction this franchise went... 
TBH, I also picked up the Labo VR kit for the Switch. I've only built a couple of the items so far, and yes, it's cardboard crap, but... I must admit, I've already had more enjoyment tinkering with it than I think I'll ever have with MK11. 
Just broke my personal record for number of consecutive days without dying!
