I guess it's better than what the European countries have been forced to take in. I'm not aware of any South American religions that allows killing infidels, or plowing through a crowd in a truck or lorry (for you old Basts out there). There's also the grooming gangs (sex slavery) thing going on. But, I highly doubt we'll have to endure that either.
As for the whole racist idea... I thought to myself; what if was a caravan of French Canadians fleeing... I dunno what, or for what reason, but just shoehorning in a hypothetical scenario here. Would it still be wrong for them to just come in? Legally, yes. So that destroys the whole "racist" fallacy.
I wonder what other factors might be in play as a negative aspect for that many people being foisted onto the public at once?
I did have to laugh at the idea of going ahead and accepting those that are seeking asylum. Apparently they've never seen the movie Spartacus.
