about an hour into the first gif i created last night (the hour mark should have been a clue), i was like "goddamn... this old battletoads arcade used some COLORS! i thought these things were like 256 to 1024 colors onscreen!". i was sitting there removing colors for like 40 minutes from the background until i realized...
the fucking import wizard had stretched the frames slightly, and the program interpolated the raw palette into some decent multiple of itself. i should have realized the arcade game wasn't putting out that many shades of an almost exact midnight blue. that box has now been unchecked. this second gif took a few minutes to make. lmao
