Al was initially wanting to have a senate committee investigation on the accusations against him in which he was willing to provide any evidence against him.

What then happened a few days later, is more phony anonymous charges came up....likely GOP trick tactics that other senate Democratic members fell for....especially those on female side...especially NY state pair of (Gillenbrand and Schumer) and then others then joined in with chorus of "no investigation; time for Al to resign". Al Franken then decided if no one else is going to have an investigation regarding these fraudulent accusations (imo), time to resign.

It is really the fault of the other Democratic leaders that chose (probably intentionally) to get rid of Al Franken. Companies buy out many of the politicians and Al was one of the few that couldn't be bought. So that is why there is now a corporate owned lackey Democratic senator in place instead of Al Franken.
