Max Boot is a conservative think tank member iirc and a columnist/op-ed writer who writes nonsense conservative opinion articles in various newspapers including LA Times. All of his newspaper columns are/were junk imo. I don't know if Max is one of the old guard GOP establishment members who are still USA patriots (that do not support Russia) or is on board with crazy stupid tea party GOP members who like getting money from Russian oligarchs and have no problems with Russia/Putin controlling USA.
