ESC key definable in Mame?.

Hi, I was thinking of building a bartop Mame cabinet such as this one. I have a HP (Mini-PC) i5 4570T (4th Gen) 3.2Ghz to 3.9Ghz with 8Gb Ram, Intel® HD Graphics 4600 2Gb, OpenGL 4.3 support, on the way from eBay. I was thinking of making the ESC key to be operable by pressing the Player 1 buttons 1-3 or 1-4 at once, through one of those Zero Delay arcade joystick controls to USB adapters. I've searched through Mame but I can't seem to find a way to define the ESC key at all let alone define it as 3 or 4 button presses at once, I was just wondering if there is a way to do it somehow?, or could this feature please be added to Mame?. Also, is the graphics card it has good enough to use HLSL?. Thanks
