If there's "MAME" in the name, then it is expected to be MAME-derived.
Any emulator/simulator that can simply "load" a PC-based arcade game, and not emulate it as MAME does, would be largely NOT MAME-derived simply due to how it operates.
Therefore, whatever this so-called emulator would be (it would not be a true emulator as we understand the word), it shouldn't be called "PlayMAME" or anything related to "MAME" as it would not be based off of MAME.
