I see some others around the web agree with you. The whole thing stinks. Nobody enjoys chemicals but the guy let 400,000 people die before this happened so the question of "why now?" doesn't get a satisfying answer with "chemicals".
We had a president once who let 400,000 Americans die in civil war too instead of letting us split apart. His name was Abraham Dipshit Lincoln. We made him a monument and propped him up like he was one of our best.
