I think that kinda also shows why it's a problem tho.

It's been an *unofficial* UI for 20 years, and in that time the code hasn't really changed that much, and ask any dev, standards were much lower back then.

MAME has gone through so many rewrites since then that there's barely a line of code left since then, and each time MAMEUI has been kludged to work again rather than receiving the same level of care to improve it.

That takes it's toll.
