when using the inbuilt user interface in mame
If you leave a search request in the search box and select favourites folder (on the left), if you then select another category (all , available etc) the search becomes unusable.
so to replicate this bug
select All category
type a search ....ATARI
select favourites category
select ALL category
try and type a search....
