Can you turn a speaker on & off in MAME?
09/18/16 08:14 PM

I am working a real Tron game and I'm using MAME for assistance to compare screens and sounds. I might have a problem with my PCB, but I wanted to check here.

When I run the Tron channel test in the real game, if I physically disconnect one of the speakers, say the left one for instance, then on the 6 channel test, 1, 2 & 3 are loud and clear, 4, 5 & 6 are silent. When I connect the left speaker but disconnect the right speaker, I get the opposite (1, 2, 3 are silent, 4, 5, 6 are loud and clear).

But when I try this in MAME, I always get all 6 loud and clear, even if I have one speaker on. (I’m turning a speaker on or off through my PC, not through MAME).

Again, I could easily be having a problem with my real Tron PCB. But it does lead me to my question. Is it possible to turn off the left or right speaker? I mean through MAME, not my PC. I'd like to simulate what is happening on my cabinet. I looked through the MAMEUI GUI settings and I didn't see anything that addressed this. Or at least I didn't recognize it.

I hope this question makes sense. Thanks,
