Just as HAZE said, save states break ALL the time, even on old "golden age" games. I do save states on pac-man quite a bit, and very rarely does it carry over when a new build comes out. I've just gotten used to them not working anymore. So, I honestly would not recommend save states for people that want to keep there hiscores
