Set CHEATS to OFF and use the cheat plugin ( -plugins -plugin cheat | or set up via the internal UI). There is an EEPROM cheat which doesn't work in MAME currently and causing MAME to crash when you attempt to start that game with cheats active. You can use the cheat plugin as it line by line ignores bad cheats and just blanks out the offending entry. Gunbird 2 is also affected.
