Supplemental 1: I was just posting that jopey is merely following the basic moral tenets that at least most of you subscribe to...and then Gat's post that I was replying to was gone. He deleted it just before I posted!
Supplemental 2: this is funny, cos this afternoon my mom called out of the blue, and one of the first things she had to tell me was that I have great thoughts and ideas. I laughed and told her about the goings-on here.
