I feel the controller is an improvement in many ways over the 360 controller. But many of your points are very true esp that micro usb connector. Why?!!!
The big one for me is they changed the triggers. It is an improvement in that now you can use them both at the same time. You can not on the 360 controller on the PC. Which explains a few frustrating moments on some games. It is considered 1 button not 2. No idea why they did that. However, now I have a bigger issue. 99% of the recent PC games out there expect the 360 controller triggers to work a particular way. So if you bump left trigger at all suddenly z axis is 0. Most games think you are pulling the trigger all the time now and right trigger does nothing as it is now a whole new control.
Build quality on the xbone controller seems better. But that technical issue holds me back from using it at all with no way to configure it. Supposedly you can trick the controller into thinking it is a 360 controller thru some driver trickery. Have not tried it yet.
