Last Hope (the original version) was their first game (and it shows)
It got an AES and NeoCD release, no coin support was ever coded in. Recently bootleggers have started selling it on MVS carts, still with no coin support, but they don't care (and I suspect home owners of MVS units don't either)
It even still has an 'exit' option in the main menu, which I'm assuming they put in for the NeoCD version and never took out.
The re-release of it 'Pink Bullets' had a proper MVS release and was ported to the Dreamcast, it's a much more playable game because the bullets aren't the same colour as all the explosions.
I'm not sure at what point they started using custom cartridges / MCUS, we do have pictures of the internals of some of their later carts, and they're quite scary looking ;-)
The NGDEVTEAM releases are considered valid emulation targets, but most are not dumped. The protection schemes could make emulation difficult / impossible anyway tho.
