I vaguely remember that since you mention. I was fourteen, my brother a year younger, and my mom had to accompany us. In that regard, it was even better in '82 when Some Kind of Hero came out, and I begged my mom to take us. (The girl in the ticket booth had a funny expression on her face. I was all, 'UH HUH, my momma's COOL'.) Both of us were laughing our asses off it was so funny. Great movie still. Hard to find, though.
