A google for the part number on the big square thing shows it to be a Cypress Semiconductor CPLD with 256 macro cells. (there is a matching Cypress RAM chip next to it)
Its entirely possible that there is data contained inside the CPLD (in addition to the pair of Samsung flash memory chips) but given the size of the CPLD there can't be all that much (at least given what I know about how CPLDs work)
Its entirely possible that the data that is stored on the Samsung flash memory chips is scrambled or encrypted or protected in some way and the CPLD unscrambles it as it goes to the mainboard.
