Building MAME on Windows: help needed even for the initial steps.
01/26/16 12:37 AM

Hello.

I'm following the guide at http://mamedev.org/tools/ , so i downloaded the 64 package and extracted it on my C: drive, resulting in having all the stuffs in C:\msys64.

Second step in the guide is

Quote:

To open a non-posix shell there are two batch files: win32env.bat for regular windows console, and win32con.bat for fancy looking conemu console.

Whatever a "non-posix shell" is, i launched the win32con.bat file (as administrator, just to be sure).

Third step:

Quote:

Important thing is to setup your git environment first
git config --global core.autocrlf true

And here i get stuck, as all i have in return is

Quote:

[MINGW64] C:\msys64\src>git config --global core.autocrlf true
error: could not lock config file /home/Parduz/.gitconfig: No such file or directory

I googled a bit, searched for an already existing .gitconfig file elsewhere (which i don't have) and then here i am.

What should i do?
