Yeah, you let yourself fall into the hype-trap, with expectations so high you could only be disappointed.
Some of the past episodes were so horribly acted (adult Anakin, etc), so badly produced (a Grover hand-puppet recast as Yoda), so horribly conceived (Jarjar) you have to go into them just to follow a storyline you enjoy. With that in mind, you can appreciate what you saw.
That being said, I was thrilled with Ep.7. I thought it was great cinema, and likely one of the best episodes, beside the original, of the entire series.
