I read HOMINIDS, some years ago. It was a cool imagination of what if. Surely a better world in most respects. Well done and all, but the story was PG, the characters middle of the road for my tastes.

I have a hard time with just about anything in any medium these days, though, cos I'm either smarter than the characters, or author, or/and just plain fearless (emotionally, physically, whatever).

I'm trying to read PROXIMA by Stephen Baxter, and the most interesting character to me so far has been the programmed matter entity Angelia....

Read the intro, etc, to FV but haven't started the first story.
