interesting stuff, i knew about the new system but i enjoyed seeing some of the old. always amazing how they keep so many trains rolling in close proximity. in manhattan, the lines converge so much they can have trains nearly 30 seconds apart, it's just overwhelming. and yet that's not even enough anymore. that city is beyond its critical mass. i think that's why it's a favorite for disaster movies -- you know 98% of folks ain't gonna get out in time and they'll trample each other since the island is more vertical than its streets can support.
