You'd think so, but you would be wrong.

Most people who encounter bugs aren't.

Indeed it is, after verifying the bugs still exist with the most recent version.

It takes you an hour to download 40 megabytes? Where do you live, Zimbabwe?

> Ok, I know those are not acceptable answers to you all,

You're right, they're not.

Bad dumps get redumped, additional programmable devices get dumped and added to ROM sets. I know, I know, a project that exists to document arcade hardware actually being kept up-to-date to include dumps of devices that weren't dumped back when it was the 90's and it was a free-for-all of any jackass with a twenty-dollar ROM programmer? Heresy!

How terrible!

Running a 64-bit version of MAME doesn't work on a 32-bit machine? You don't say!

Yep, that's pretty much what my feedback would be.

> Wow, thanks for all that help.

You're welcome. Your poverty is not the MAME team's problem.

Oh perfect, then we've hit upon an ideal solution: Assign every user his or her own personal MAME developer friend, so that nobody ever has to update MAME and we can all ignore the rules surrounding bug reports.

> Never mind I guess.

Apparently not.

> Hey wait, couldn't any of you guys help by testing on your current version of MAME?

What makes your time more valuable than ours?

> You probably could have confirmed the problem quicker than writing the replies to me

Yeah, probably. I can't imagine why people weren't positively falling over themselves to verify your bug, what with your cheery attitude and all.

> No, you just
> prefer to beat on me because I didn't use the exact current version.

If asking you to verify the bug with an up-to-date version of MAME is "beating on you", I shudder to think what you'll call this response. Mind-rape? Digital sodomy? The mind boggles!

> So since I have an old PC that can't run the current version, could any of you run
> the test and report back?

Yeah, people probably could, but again, I can't imagine why people aren't absolutely falling over themselves to help you. Not to mention that you still haven't answered my question as to why your time is so much more important than everyone else's.
