2600s are still alive exactly because they're crude, mid-70s tech with no moving parts. Xboxes involve two rotating media drives, and early 2000s electronics don't have a great long-term reliability story (that was ground zero for the "capacitor plague").
Also, price pressure on TVs means analog and standard-def capability (including composite, S-video, and component inputs) is likely to go away a lot quicker than you might think.
