well, known issues are the ones logged at MT, and I have never seen this specific problem being mentioned... so no, it was not known however, thanks to your report we have discovered it now and not in 2020 ![](//www.mameworld.info/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif)
in conclusion, I have added a temporary workaround to the crash when auditing the CHD during emulation and current git tree does not crash anymore. it's not the final solution, but for average users it's all that is needed while I search for a better fix
