haha...

I ended up buying a Printrbot Simple Metal (kit). My 2nd choice would've been the Bukobot. But that was more expensive than the Printrbot. The Bukobot supports more types of filament than the Printrbot (PLA is the standard/type of filament). You could use ABS, but it's highly recommended that you use a heated bed (an extra $100 USD) so as to avoid warping/curling of the model you're printing at its base.

BUT... I believe you can also print something called a stage, or raft... To me - that's just wasting filament. Another 'technique' is to use something called ABS juice. Disolve ABS in Acetone, put a coating of that on your (regular/unheated) printing bed, and (allegedly) you shouldn't have the problem of warping.

The hardest part with the kit is calibrating the Z-Axis. Putting it together can actually be fun. But I'm guessing I'll still need to calibrate something else... Like the hot end, or the extruder. I'm getting "boogers" of melted plastic on the nozzle and it's making the prints come out sloppy...

The only thing I've printed so far is a 3mm square. The bottom of it is not smooth because of the filament running out and making the so-called "booger".
