Hi everyone:
Just bought a new J-PAC (after killing my first one because of bad wiring) and have a few basic questions, hope that anyone can help.
Right now the cabinet contains an EAGO/EYGO monitor with matching PSU, and an old computer with a parallel port JAMMA adapter that's working OK, but it's too slow and frameskips a lot. I want to replace it with a Core i3, J-PAC and ArcadeVGA.
Quoting the J-PAC help page:

Be doubly sure about grounding whenever connecting monitors. Check the continuity with an ohm-meter of the monitor chassis to power-cord ground BEFORE connecting anything else up. Also double-check the isolating transformer is still connected (see below).
I noticed that my PSU (EAGO/EYGO) doesn't have Field Ground (FG), because the cable that goes to the wall plug has only two wires. The PSU has a GND connector that I think goes to the monitor chassis. So there's no way to test continuity to the power cord ground.
What should I do to ensure that my J-PAC doesn't get fried again?
- Wire the power cord ground to the PSU chassis? - Wire the power cord ground to the Monitor chassis? - The current wire setup has the Monitor Ground cable connected to the common ground (pins 1-2) in the JAMMA connector, is this OK?
Thanks, Ivan
