This is a Toshiba HD from a Compaq laptop. You can see the connection, and next to the drive in the case, the little flat connector used to plug the drive to the laptop motherboard. There is valuable data in it, many many family pics, and who knows what. Since the laptop died, the guy has been unable to even know the name of that connection type, and less to connect it somewhere.
So my first and foremost question is: does anyone know the name of this connection type, and any link/info about it?
With the name we could start searching for solutions to connect it to a today's PC (IDE or SATA, whatever). But if besides the name, any of you can point me to a good place to search for a solution to just plug, dump the data, and keep the drive as paperweight or similar, I'd be really really grateful. Just with the name would be really grateful.
