I thought it was inferred. If you have over 25,000 files to search through in order to weed out incomplete/corrupt ones, it would be much nicer to have a program do all the checking for you. I'm pretty sure that's what Pi wants. Doing it manually is just daunting. Just broke my personal record for number of consecutive days without dying!
