Hmm, sumpm wrong with the processor link, but I found it. Thanks. I'm also looking on ebay. Funny, beasty server processors are going fucking cheap.
> Why not pick up an Intel Pentium G3258 dual-core processor, a cheap H81 board, and some memory? They supposedly overclock really easily to 4GHz with the stock cooler just by increasing the CPU multiplier and maybe bumping up the CPU voltage slightly. Some people are getting 4.2GHz.
Intel Pentium G3258 Haswell Dual-Core 3.2GHz LGA 1150 53W Desktop Processor BX80646G3258 $69.99 ttp://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819117374 MSI H81M-P33 LGA 1150 Intel H81 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 Micro ATX Intel Motherboard $45.99 - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813130731
G.SKILL Ripjaws Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory Model F3-12800CL9D-8GBRL $69.99 - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231314
$185.97 for all three. It would be a huge upgrade.
Scifi frauds. SF illuminates.
