Hi. This is my first post here. I appologize in advance if this is the wrong forum, wrong protocol, etc. Feedback welcome.
I have a HotRod joystick with a keyboard interface (PS/2?): http://www.kutek.net/mame_roms_pinball/mame32_config_files/hotrod_manual_hanaho.pdf I have a Windows 7 laptop. I would like to use the two together. In order to connect the joystick to the laptop, I got this adapter: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00028OP2Y/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1
I connect one end of the keyboard cable into the Hot Rod (the port that says 'Computer'), and the other end into the keyboard part of the the adapter (it also has mouse part), and plug the adapter into a USB port. Windows says installing driver, and then driver installed successfully. But I cannot seem to get any keyboard input from the joystick in any app. Back when I used it with a desktop computer as a keyboard pass-through, I would see normal keyboard input when pushing buttons and moving the joysticks, in Notepad etc.
Any ideas how to get the device working as keyboard input? This doesn't have anything to do with MAME per se, but the purpose is to use it with MAME, so I figure folks here might know.
Thanks in advance!
