I presume you're using WolfMAME 0.106, so if the INP was recorded without sound, then it is played back without sound. This is a throwback to the old days when sound hardware was completely disabled when -nosound/-soundcard 0 was used. This is not an issue for 0.106 though, and you can override the automatic settings from the INP by using -override without any problems.
